From the Thurbo Tea Estate located in the Darjeeling region of India. The name of the garden owes its origins to a historical event. In order to invade Nepal, years ago, the British set up camp in the estate, camp or ‘Tombu’ means tent, in local language. The name, may have become Thurbo in later years. The altitude of Thurbo ranges from 762 metres to 1890 metres. Situated in idyllic Mirik, near Nepal, established in 1872, the Thurbo Tea Estate is nestled in the shadows of Mt. Kanchenjunga. The hills and peaks of Nepal are visible from here. Streams and rivulets mark its boundaries and the Mechi and Rangbang, gurgle down to the plains. Orange orchards and orchid farms nearby, lend the garden an exotic charm. The forces of nature combine here to bless the teas with an unmatched quality.
