From the Maloom Tea Estate in Nepal. The Maloom Tea Estate is a relatively small estate of about 200 hectares located on the “roof of the world”. The Maloom Tea Estate is located in the village of Maloom in the eastern region of Nepal in the district of Ilam at a height of 3500- 6000 feet above mean sea level. The Maloom Tea Estate has annual production of about 40 tons of tea. First flush starts in late February and continues through mid-April. The first harvest begins from late February and continues to mid-April and follows the first light showers after winter making this is springtime tea so the young leaves produce a light tea. Maloom Tea Estate produces quality tea that is very similar to Darjeeling tea as the estate is in proximity to Darjeeling India, only separated by the international border. The village of Maloom is free from environmental pollution and has been blessed by Mother nature to give a fine flavor and aroma.
