This is a wonderful second flush Darjeeling tea with excellent taste and muscatel flavor. Zoom in to the image above to see this leaf in all its splendor, including large dark brown leaves with an abundance of whitish golden tips. From the Kalej Valley Tea Estate located in the Ghoom station in the Darjeeling region of India. The Kalej Valley Tea Estate has two division, the Upper Kallej Valley and the Milling divisions. The tea plantation consists of about 235 hectares planted at an altitude of 3450 to 6600 feet above mean sea level. The gross area of the plantation is 496 hectares. Of the acreage with tea plantings, 73% consists of china and china hybrids, 5% is closnal and the rest is assam variety tea. It produces 110,000 kgs of tea annually and employes 537 workers.
